Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler were together for nine years. Their breakup was confirmed back in January so, like, eleven months ago. She was on a red carpet pretty muchright after the split was reportedwearing white and it was basically a Carrie Bradshaw moment: she’s marrying herself!
Anyway, Vanessa got back out there right away, seen with the Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma a week or so later and it’s been reported just this week that she’s still on that athlete tip and isnow dating baseball player Cole Tucker. Austin meanwhile has been in Australia working on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic, co-starring Tom Hanks, and is rumoured to be with Olivia DeJonge, who is playing Priscilla. They werehanging out on the beach together recently. Well that’s a predictable storyline – by Hollywood and art-imitates-life standards. There’s even an age difference; not the ten years between Elvis and Priscilla but still, seven years.
Here’s Austin in Australia this week with his Elvis hair in some Elvis-cut pants. I consider myself to be an Elvis Presley junior expert. I really can’t wait to see him get the Baz Luhrmann treatment. Baz is a decadent filmmaker. Sometimes indulgent. Which is kinda perfect for Elvis’s story. I’m not here for Elvis by the Coen Brothers. I want the Elvis treatment for the Elvis movie. I also want to crush as hard on Austin as I used to on Elvis. Looks promising.
