The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, were in Scotland today visiting Outfit Moray, which is an organisation that provides outdoor learning and adventure activities to young people.

Kate is well suited for this kind of engagement – she’s athletic and coordinated and she looks really comfortable on that bike, going over that ramp. This is the kind of outing that the British royals probably need more of to showcase the youth and vitality of its future. The vibe is energetic and sporty, a refreshing departure from the adjectives you’d typically associate with the institution: old, dull, inert. Will and Kate served up the British royal equivalent of a blockbuster action movie today. By their standards, obviously.

The Waleses also coordinated their outfits – both were in green looking “rich outdoorsy” and also, um, “these people hunt” which… well… it’s their family pastime, isn’t it?

While the clothing choices work though, I’m not sure about the hair. Like, I enjoy the shots of them getting out there and participating in the activities but she’s doing the activities, she’s riding a mountain bike; I don’t know that her hair knows that it was supposed to be mountain biking today though because if there was any day where it would have been a good idea for her to wear her hair up, it would have been this one. But I guess she was too committed to the Charlie’s Angels cosplay. It’s giving Charlie’s Angels, right?

I’m never mad at Charlie’s Angels hair, that’s not the problem. The problem is that this is very, very poorly executed.

Sorry, but this is terrible hair styling.

To answer this question, I went to a professional – key hair artist, Caitlin Cullimore, we’ve been working together for years (checkher IG page herefor examples of her work) to ask her if, in her expert opinion, there are extensions happening here. She answered in the affirmative. The extensions, however, are not the issue. The issue is how they’ve been put in. The issue is that they’ve been put in badly. You can see the line and how it separates from her own hair.

And I’m talking about this because it speaks to work, and the quality of work. This is the future Queen of England, and whoever is doing this work on her hair should step up their game. The royals are INFLUENCERS. They are the OG influencers. If IG influencers can figure this out, why can’t the Princess of England?!

Don’t tell me it’s not part of her job. Because half her job in the British tabloids, who work closely with the courtiers, is to be shoved down our throats as a “fashion icon”. If that’s the case, then get the “fashion icon” some better hair styling.
