South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee are in London for a two day state visit and Prince William and Kate were responsible for the initial greeting, representing the British royal family, before heading over together to meet King Charles and Camilla. This is what the British monarchy is known for – the pageantry, the spectacle, the carriages, and the jewels. And Kate really brought it today with her look.

This red cape dress, Catherine Walker & Co, with the big bow tied off-kilter is probably one of her best outfits in a while. The material is exquisite, it looks thick and luxe, it falls beautifully, and it photographs like a dream. There’s not a wrinkle or a fold in sight, it’s so good not even her terrible hair can ruin the moment.

Catherine, Princess of Wales arrives as The President of the Republic of Korea carries out a state visit on November 21, 2023 in London, England

GIRL! More of this! She is always buttoned up so tight, I’m not mad at unintentional flash. I mean it’s hardly a flash by regular people standards but for Kate this is basically the equivalent of showing butt cheeks, ha.

Very curious to see what Kate will bring at the state dinner. This daytime look is already to theme in honour of South Korea and I’m hoping the nighttime look is more of the same, by actually wearing a piece by a Korean designer. Like Sohee Park whose label, Miss Sohee, is based in London. Miss Sohee’s dresses are big red carpet energy, perfect for a splashy state dinner. And it would check all the boxes if Kate showed up at the event wearing Miss Sohee for the first time instead of her usual go-to, like Jenny Packham. It would also be amazing if at some point during this state visit Will and Kate dropped some K-pop knowledge but this, I think, might be asking too much.
