It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake together on a red carpet. That mostly has to do with the pandemic and the fact that for a while there were no red carpets and the two reportedly spent most of their time in Montana with their children. But also, for a while there, especially last year, JT wasn’t all that popular afterFraming Britney Spearscame out as the culture was interrogating itself over how Britney was treated by the public, by the media, and even by those in Hollywood.
Jessica and Justin are now back in LA for the release of her new limited seriesCandywhich premiered on Hulu yesterday. She’s been doing interviews to promote the show, includingJimmy Kimmel Live!last night and she and Justin also attended the premiere. I love this outfit on her – the oversized pants and the slightly cropped top accessorised by all those chains, it’s a fresh look. And, amazingly, he’s not obscuring it. By either jumping in front of her or behind her or spectacle-ising himself in any way. But since we’re talking about that, let me just bring back the classic:

Justin is working on a new album –he talked about it back in January, confirming that he’s been in the studio and, yes, an album is on the way although he wouldn’t say exactly when. It’s been four years sinceMan of the Woodscame out, not exactly his most successful album. So I’m curious how a new JT release will perform because the music scene has changed since he was last at the top of the charts. There is another pop prince called Justin right now who’s been dominating the charts. Music is also heavily dependent these days on social media and how its users respond to the sound. How does JT fit into this landscape? Will we know by the end of the year?
