Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeanne Cadieu have been dating since at least 2018. In that time, she’s attended red carpet events with him but not WITH him, posing separately and avoiding being photographed together. That changed last September when Jeanne showed up with Jake in support of Maggie at the New York Film Festival premiere of The Lost Daughter:
That was for a group shot though. Jake wasn’t giving up any photos of just him with Jeanne – at least on that night. Last night then was the first time Jake and Jeanne walked a carpet together, at the Paris premiere of his new filmAmbulance.It’s been a while since he’s been this public in a relationship, like this might be as public as he’s been since Reese Witherspoon, which was over a decade ago.
So what’s with the timing? The simple promotion of a film?
Let’s rewind to near the end of last year, and Taylor Swift’s ten-minute long version of “All Too Well”, at which point Jake became a gossip heatscore. The song put their relationship back in the spotlight and clowned him with a music video starring a lookalike Dylan O’Brien, with lyrics that called him out for the age of his lovers. Well, on that note, Jeanne just turned 26 so at least Jake will go past the Leonardo DiCaprio age threshold. But to Taylor’s point, Jeanne would have been around 21/22 to Jake’s 37-ish when they first started.
And now he’s talking about her for thefirst time in magazine interviews, saying that she’s “family” and that he feels “so at ease" in their relationship and showing up on the red carpet with Jeanne arm in arm – this from a dude who has been notoriously reluctant to discuss his personal life, especially his romantic life. Coincidence or conspiracy?
