While the SAG-AFTRA strike may be entering its final days—the guild is reviewing AMPTP’s “last, best, and final offer”, which is a vaguely threatening way to word labor negotiations, but also par for the course with AMPTP—some parts of the year-end calendar are continuing unabated. One event unaffected by the strike is the annual LACMA Art + Film Gala, which was held Saturday night (the event honored visual artist Judy Baca and director David Fincher). The event is usually an A-list affair, and this year was no different. It was presented by Gucci, which also hosted an after party at the Chateau Marmont.

The guest list is insane, including lowkey power couple Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant—am I the only person so happy they’re still together? (Lainey: me too!) Also present was Jodie Turner-Smith, showing off her incredible abs; Salma Hayek-Pinault; Billie Eilish; Quinta Brunson; Eva Longoria; Jessica Chastain and herMemoryco-star Peter Sarsgaard; Andrew Garfield in an AMAZING maroon suit; Elliot Page in a crisp white suit; A$AP Rocky; Julia Garner;Rosé;Jodie Comer; Pedro Pascal; Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst—literally the list goes on. Half of Hollywood was there, all wearing Gucci.

Also notable, though, was Greta Lee, there with herPast Livesco-star Teo Yoo and director Celine Song. This is an incredibly competitive awards season, easily the most competitive since the pandemic, and thePast Livesteam is working hard to overcome all the bigger, splashier films of the year. They are missing zero opportunities to keepPast Livesat the forefront of the conversation.

Lily Gladstone was also on hand,as was her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, who was co-chair of the event. Colman Domingo was also there, and Lily and Colman had a moment inside. They are both expected to contend for Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively. Given that we are without premieres and the film festivals have been skint on stars this year, events like the LACMA Gala are our best preview of what Oscar night could look like. An Oscars red carpet with Lily and Colman bringing it could be exciting. (I expect nothing from Leo. He will show up in a standard tux and smile with his mouth closed.)

Finally, there was Kim Kardashian in a hot pink gown. It’s my favorite color, the cut and fit are great—not always the case when she dons couture—and the black gloves and diamond necklace are a nice touch. It’s a little bit Marilyn Monroe without looking like cosplay. It pains me to say it, but this is my favorite look from the night.
