Earlier this week, Lainey fell under the spell ofGlen Powell and Jonathan Majors. That’s a powerful combination, a one-two punch of hot and sexy. But how do you feel about Glen Powell andRegé-Jean Page? They’re at the center of a “reimagining”—no one wants to use the word “remake” anymore, so you know this trend is almost over—of the story of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The real-life Western outlaws were immortalized by Paul Newman and Robert Redford in 1969’sButch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. There is already a prequel, though, calledButch and Sundance: The Early Daysfrom 1979 starring Tom Berenger as Butch Cassidy and William Katt as the Sundance Kid. It’s not very good.

Because Paul Newman and Robert Redford, respectively and together as off-screen friends, have ascended to the upper echelons of Hollywood royalty, I sort of thoughtButch and Sundancewould remain hands-off, the way no one wants to take on无因的反叛(yet, someday, I’m sure someone will be stupid enough to think that lightning can be recaptured). But Glen Powell and RJP are going to try it for streaming, with the series set at Amazon following a bidding war. It’s produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO shingle, which is concerning because literally nothing they’ve made outside of Marvel is good. They have these big plans of building self-sustaining, IP-driven franchises, but maybe make like, ONE good thing first. And please let that thing be thisButch and Sundanceremake because if they drag downRegé-Jean Page (again!) and Glen Powell with their mucky visuals and overblown plotting I will cry.

Anyway, Page and Powell are hot but are they “playing ping pong shirtless” hot? Newman and Redford are legendary hotties. The bar is high, boys.
