Her hair looks great and the nods to Karl’s white iconic ponytail is fun. Points for interpreting the theme and extra points for being one of the few stars who wore colour, but there’s something off about this look? Is it the shade of yellow? Both her 2022 BAFTAs and批评人士选择看起来were better yellows.
Ice Spice made her Met Gala debut this year, in what may be one of the quickest invites awarded to a rising star in the music world. While she’s quickly entered the fashion conversation thanks to her signature hair and style call-backs to mini-purses and platform heels, she disappointed on the Karl carpet — or rather her stylists did.
This white sequined Balmain gown was just ill-fitted, like it was pulled from a rack that morning. But aren’t those partnerships planned months ahead of time? Loved her camera accessory though. That made for a great photo op as she posed up the Met steps.
Kim Petras returned to the Met this year, after wearing a horse head bustier in 2021. She wore this black and white Marc Jacobs creation that looks a little dishevelled — which is never what I associate with Karl Lagerfeld.
A lot has changed for Kim in the past couple years, notably scoring a #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the Sam Smith duet “UNHOLY”, but she hasn’t been able to serve a fashion moment the way she delivers pop bops. I always find the clothes are wearing her. Sometimes you have to take the dishevelled Marc Jacobs dress and walk out there andSELL IT. The strong, confident woman in her music did not come through on this carpet.
