托马s Markle, Meghan Markle’s father, and his older daughter, Samantha, are both making headlines today. Samantha Markle is rumoured to be on the upcoming season ofCelebrity Big Brotherand during an interview with Wendy Williams this morning, she said she “can’t talk about anything yet” but that we all have the wrong idea about her so there may be an opportunity for her to set the record straight about herself and that she will “have an extraordinary amount of fun”.
Because, I guess, the “real” Samantha Markle is some kind of class act?
Nobody goes on a reality show to be classy! And, I dunno, cashing in on a biological connection to a now-royal sister isn’t exactly the most elegant move. Who’s out here thinking that Samantha Markle has been “misunderstood” all this time?

They just won’t letMeghanlive. Because yesterday, another blindside, again thanks to dad. You’ll recall, when Thomas Marklewas interviewed by Piers Morgan onGood Morning Britaina couple of weeks ago, Meghan and Harry had no idea. And now he’s followed that up with an exclusive interviewwith The Sun, telling them that he hasn’t heard from Meghan and Harry since the day after the wedding and that he doesn’t even have contact info for her or for the palace anymore.
Which is poetic, really. Wasn’t he the one who had TMZ on speed-dial (is that even a thing anymore?) in the days leading up to the wedding and afterwards too? Wasn’t it TMZ that broke the news to the world, and Meghan and Harry at the same time, that Thomas wasn’t coming to the wedding? So…wait. Thomas Markle was telling TMZ that he couldn’t make it to the wedding before even his own daughter and is now turning around and accusing his daughter or not letting him reach out to her? Is this ironic?
According to Thomas, he can see in Meghan’s eyes that she is “terrified”. Subtext: the royal family is being mean to her and she needs her daddy’s protection. Because continually putting her on blast via TMZ, and Piers Morgan, and The Sun is how dads protect their children? By the way, he was paid for the Piers MorganGMBinterview. And he apparently didn’t do The Sun interview for free either.
The latest we’re hearing that Thomas may just pick up and fly over to Londonand demand that Meghan see him. Is he going show up the gates of Kensington Palace with a camera crew behind him filming the whole thing? Because at this point…would you put it past him and Samantha?
So can Meghan and Harry trust that if Thomas had their contact information, he wouldn’t share it? Can they trust that he would call them in privacy and not with a microphone in his face documenting the conversation? Can they trust that what they tell him will remain between them and not between them and him and on the morning news and on the front page of the British papers?
There was some confusion, initially, about why Meghan wasn’t seeing her father. And that’s because many of us, we’re lucky, we have parents who do right by us, so we can’t imagine not calling them, not involving them in our lives. Some people, however, aren’t so fortunate. Some people have parents who don’t have their backs. It’s hard to relate to, I know, especially if you grew up with model parents. Which is why we’re hearing things like this, “I could never cut my dad off, that’s just horrible”. You would never cut YOUR dad off. But would YOUR dad do what Thomas Markle has been doing? Would your dad go on camera and tell Harry to “get over yourself”?
