Kit Harington and Rose Leslie were living in London even before the pandemic because he was shootingEternalsand then when COVID hit, and she was pregnant, they stayed in the UK for the birth of their son whose name they have not released.
Now, though, Kit and Rose are back in New York and they were photographed holding hands, looking super happy and healthy, after a two hour lunch yesterday. I’ve never been a new parent but I know enough from my friends who’ve been new parents that these moments are vital, to be able to get away for a couple of hours from the feeding and the changing etc and just have a few moments to yourselves. Of course, yes, this is a privilege, and not all parents can afford it. But as many parents have told me, it’s also an investment back in yourself and in your relationship.
In other Rose news, did you know that her next project is HBO’s series adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s bookThe Time Traveler’s Wife? I missed this news completely but it’s apparently a big priority for HBO after acquiring the rights in 2018 and the show is going straight to series with Rose playing the lead, Claire, and Theo James as Henry. The book was a big deal when it came out in 2003 and they turned it into a film a few years later starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana which, frankly, wasn’t very good. The story, for sure, is better suited to an episode series and production is already well underway. The team behind it is pretty impressive too, including Steven Moffatt (Doctor WhoandSherlock) and David Nutter who has worked onGame of ThronesandThe Sopranos. So, obviously, the producers have a winning track record with multiple networks but in particular with HBO. They haven’t announced a release date but there’s a page on their website with “coming soon” listed at the top. I was pretty into the book, so I would have been into this even without Rose but now that I know she’s in it, I’m even more excited. This, for me, will definitely be at the top of the watch list.
