Dear Gossips,
If you’ve been reading this site for a while, at least since HBO first introducedGame of Thrones, you know my view on the whole “Winter is Coming” thing – it was never my favourite part of the series. As I wrote back in 2017during Season 7, I cared more about Theon Greyjoy than I did about the Night King. Because a living adversary is always, always more interesting than a dead one. Here, then, is my two-word reaction to what happened last night: Whatever, next.
Maybe it was inevitable. Like in sports, when a team plays a killer game, or a player completes the match of their life, they often come out flat the next time. Last week’s episode, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”, belongs in the Hall of Fame. This week’s episode, “The Long Night”, set up as the Battle of Winterfell, was less a main event than it was the house band that plays while people are still taking their seats – no disrespect to house bands. I look forward to a return to GoT’s “talky-talky“最好的下个星期。莎拉的“长倪的分析ght” is coming up first.
Speaking of “inevitable” though… SOBBBBB!!! That word has taken on new meaning for me. If you know, you know.
We’ll likely finally know something we’ve been waiting to know this week though: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby will be born. If the child is the true heir to its parents’ celebrity, it’ll come today, to make the American magazine print deadlines.
