这是一段时间以来我们看到艾玛·沃森walk a red carpet, or any colour carpet. I think the last time was when she was promotingLittle Women.Of course much of that has to do with the pandemic, but Emma was low-key even before COVID, staying as far away from the spotlight as possible after a childhood spent largely in the biggest spotlight.

Emma made her first public appearance in a long time yesterday at the Earthshot Prize ceremony in London – and this is indeed an outfit. From certain angles, it looks like a flouffy white dress:

Turn a few degrees and you can see the pants:

Underneath the pants she’s wearing lug sole boots. I like the footwear choice, but I’m not super into the pants because of the wide-leg. But the pants and the shoes are not the story. The story here is that the dress-top is sustainablebecause it’s Oxfam, made from ten upcycled wedding dresses. So it’s a look that meets the spirit of the event and is consistent with some of her previous fashion choices. You’ll recall, back at the Met Gala in 2016 she wore a Calvin Klein look that was made out ofrecycled materials and organic cotton.

Prince William and Kate were the guests of honour at the Earthshot Prize ceremony where guests were asked to not buy something new to wear, which Kate does often anyway, and she pulled out a McQueen that was first seen on her in 2011, and William wore a green velvet jacket (Reiss, 2019) over a black turtleneck. It’s a good look on him – very Bond, as some people are pointing out.

You know whose look is my favourite though? Emma Thompson! Emma said in interviews that she was relieved to not have to think of something new to wear to the event. Emma wore a blue suit but the highlight here is… her hair! Look at all this body and volume!
