It’s slow out there in celebrity, just as it is for the rest of us. This is the supposed to be the week we recover from the pre-Christmas and holiday rush, and get ready for to pick up the grind next week, when a new year begins. And we probably all need the rest, given the bullsh-t of… well… everything that’s happened and whatever f-cksh-t is coming for us in 2022. Where Hollywood is concerned, it gets real busy real fast after this coming weekend with the Critics’ Choice Awards happening on January 9, the first major award show of the season and taking the place of the Golden Globes, which typically go down the first Sunday after the new year break.

So with that in mind, as we enjoy this temporary decelerated pace, we’ll do a few quick photo posts of celebrities in their down time – let’s start in Aspen where Kevin Hart and his family spent Christmas.

He was also photographed in shorts, heading to the gym. I used to feel attacked when I saw celebrities working out during the holidays. And now I’m one of those people who continues working out during the holidays – and I hate every minute, but you know what I hate more? Back pain and leg cramps from inactivity and sitting around all day. If I was still 20 years old? F-ck, of course, I’d sit on the couch all day and not move. This isn’t an option for me now.

Conan O’Brien is also in Aspen. He and Kevin are friends. I wonder if they got together at some point during this trip. It’s now been exactly six months since Conanended his talk show on TBSand start working on a weekly show that will air on HBO Max. Initially there were reports that the new show would premiere this year; that’s obviously not happening and there have been few updates on when it will premiere. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Taking extra time and getting it right is not a bad thing. As Sarah wrote in her piece about the end of Conan’s show, he’s started over many times before, he’s great at finding and nurturing talent, he’s an excellent and perhaps underrated writer, he’s beloved, a decent colleague, a fair boss, and of course, he’s really, really funny. Creativity requires space – and if he’s taking it now before whatever comes in 2022.

And finally, in a post last week aboutKate Hudson in Aspen for the holidays, I mentioned that she and her family are Aspen regulars, along with their family friends, like Melanie Griffith. So here are Melanie and Goldie Hawn out for a post-Christmas lunch the other day. Speaking of Christmas…

It was almost two years ago that it was announced thatGoldie would reunite onscreen with Diane Keaton and Bette Midlerin a movie calledFamily Jewels, about three women who have to spend Christmas together along with their various grandchildren and other family members after the man they were all once married to drops dead. Then COVID happened, and is still happening, and we haven’t heard much since. But I hope they haven’t given up on it. This year marked the 25th anniversary ofThe First Wives Club, a surprise hit when it came out, a cult favourite among middle-aged women and the LGBTQ+ community. There is definitely an audience that wants to see these three women back together, including Ariana Grande.现在的人肯定会告诉ing her agent to get her a part in that movie.
