At a Television Critics Association’s press tour, Heidi Klum, who was a judge onAmerica’s Got Talent, responded to a question about her time onAmerica’s Got Talent, saying it was “amazing” and “I can't speak for [Gabrielle]. I didn't experience the same thing. To me, everyone treats you with the utmost respect. I've never seen anything that was weird or hurtful." I don’t doubt that Heidi’s experience was amazing and she was treated with respect, but there are a few ways of looking at this. One question is, why is Heidi Klum expected to answer questions about theAGTenvironment – she was not a producer or in a position of behind-the-scenes power. She did not work on the show at the same time as Gabrielle. But on the other hand, of course Heidi didn’t have the same experience as Gabrielle – are they going to tell Heidi her hairstyles are too German?
Chris Martin was on Ellen and talked about visiting Apple Martin at work. She has a retail job and was mortified when her dad came in. OK, so where is Apple working. The Grove? Brentwood Country Mart? I was going to guess a goop store, but Chris mentioned that he was in line to buy a shirt and I’m not sure if they sell men’s clothing.
This is obviously a rift onRisky Business, but will anyone under 30 understand the visual references? I don’t know if the Wayfarers and white button-down shirt register with younger people. And then there’s the pre-order hashtag. Why would you pre-order a music video? How does that even work?
Harper’s BAZAAR’s editor-in-chief has stepped down, which means the magazine will be revamped. This cover is from 2007 – the Tom Cruise years. Katie never talks about this time in her life; she avoids it so deliberately that I’m surprised she even used a throwback from the TomKat era.
This cover photo was also used by the Australian edition, with additional details: “Styled by Victoria Beckham.” Remember, the Beckhams and Tom and Katie were BFF for a minute. And Tom was also trying to befriend Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Marc is now close with the Beckhams and was part of Harper and Cruz’s baptism last month. Do you think they ever look back and gossip about that time? I would love to listen in on a session.
This is, as Lenny points out, incredibly important (many commenters think the man holding the baby is singer/songwriter/stylist Gerry DeVeaux – I couldn’t find an official Instagram account for him, but he has very fancy friends).
