Cardi B is expecting her second child with Offset. She revealed the news on Instagram last night, just as she hit the stage to perform with her husband’s group Migos at the BET Awards. The Instagram pic shows Cardi in a custom white breast plate byPakistani artist Misha Japanwala, which contours to her otherwise nude figure. She captioned the post “#2!” with a heart emoji and tagged Offset.

Onstage last night, Cardi wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana, jewel-encrusted black bodysuit which accentuated the bump, as she joined her husband to perform their collaboration “Type Sh-t” from Migos’ latest album. A press release trumpeting the performance noted that Cardi“showed off her baby bump as she shared this wonderful news with her husband by her side.”It feels like they orchestrated this reveal from momanddad as a sign of unity after filing fordivorce last September. Offset called the pregnancy“another blessing”on his Instagram story late last night. This is his 5th blessing, including Cardi’s first child, Kulture, who turns 3 on July 10th.

Cardi, quite memorably, revealed she was expecting their daughter during a performance onSaturday Night Livein 2018, where carefully planned camera angles to capture her bump in a white Christian Siriano gown. At the time, many outlets had been reporting on her pregnancy for weeks butCardi initially denied it. This time around it seems she really wanted to reveal it on her own terms. Of course, living life mostly under lockdown helps but if you take a look at her Instagram, she clearly stockpiled content to roll out as her bump grew so nobody would suspect a thing. When Iggy Azalea stopped posting on Instagram, pregnancy rumours started almost immediately and those assumptions turned out true. So, Cardi knew she had to cover all her bases, which involves planning. She even pre-shot a video to promote “Type Sh-t”, rapping along to her lyrics in skin-tight fashions, which was released earlier this month.

But what about new music? Well, she never let her first pregnancy stop her from finishing, dropping, and promoting her debut album, but she’s been open about how difficult that was. So it looks like maybe her sophomore effort will be on hold for a little bit longer. Earlier this year she revealed how she’s finally reached a point where she’s comfortableputting out music on her own schedule, so there’s no rush. In the meantime fans can catch Cardi in the #1 movie at the worldwide box office,F9: The Fast Saga. Plus, Vin Diesel’salready saying she’ll be backforF10.
