Dear Gossips,

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is two years old today. At the time of this post, his parents have yet to publicly celebrate the occasion and since they don’t have public social media accounts, even if they do, it’ll be shared by someone else: a friend like Misan Harriman, perhaps, who was the one who took the photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announcing they were expecting their second child…

And the shot a few weeks later confirming that it will be a girl:

That is if the Sussexes choose to do anything at all. It may very well be that they don’t release a photo and go with a simple statement. Or nothing. Speaking of photos though, Archie’s relatives shared their birthday wishes for Archie on social media:

None of these are new shots, obviously, since Harry and Meghan clearly aren’t making any new pictures of Archie available but there has been some talk of why the Clarence House IG, which is Prince Charles, did a post for Archie when Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis celebrated their birthdays recently too but they didn’t show up on his feed. It could be because he gets to see them often enough and hasn’t seen his youngest grandchild for a year and a half. Or it could be that he’s telling on himself because of course one of the biggest controversies to come out of the Television Event of the Year had to do with Archie and what he would look like when he was born. The British senior royals have been eating a lot of sh-t since then. They’d likely eat more sh-t on top of that if they were to not wish Archie happy birthday.

Strategically, then, of course there were discussions about how to handle this day, and what their communications plan would be and who would post what. I wonder what their plan will be when Archie’s sister arrives and whether or not they’ll be able to access any assets for social media – and how that would even be negotiated.

Yours in gossip,
