Dear Gossips,

This has been the month of the fashion weeks from New York to London to Milan this past weekend and Paris Fashion Week kicks off today. As usual, the Versace presentation attracted a lot of big names on Friday night and not just the Hollywood names. Donatella posted two photos of herself with Zhao Lusi, a VERY popular actress from China who’s been nicknamed the “queen of Chinese romantic dramas”.

She’s currently starring in a series calledHidden Loveand it’s the most watched Chinese show on Netflix this year.

赵赵裂缝,也称为乐观,只是latest on the ever growing list of East Asian stars that luxury fashion houses are connecting with because of how lucrative the Asian market has been over the last few years. It’s long been projected that China will be the world’s largest luxury market by 2025 while South Koreans are the “world’s biggest spenders on personal luxury goods per capita”. So the East Asian focus has been a brand strategy for most of the high end brands for some time.

But the Southeast Asian market is also expanding withVogue Business and WWDcalling the region the next boom.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa, an ambassador for Celine, arrived in Paris ahead of the Celine show and her five scheduled performances at the famed Crazy Horse cabaret. Remember, Beyoncé filmed the video for “Partition” at Crazy Horse.

All this is happening however as all kinds of rumours are swirling about BLACKPINK because they’re currently renegotiating their contracts their label, YG. Last weekKorean media reportedthat only Rosé has resigned with YG while Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa are looking at other representation for their solo work while trying to figure out a deal to participate in BLACKPINK group activities for six months out of the year. Today a new round of reporting came out of Korea that Jennie and Jisoo have “each established their own individual agencies”. In response YG released a statement saying that“Nothing has been confirmed regarding BLACKPINK’s contract renewals and their future activities.”

This is coming after years of fan complaints about YG and how they’ve managed BLACKPINK’s output. By K-pop standards, they have a relatively small library with two studio albums in seven years.

They are the biggest girl band in the world so the fact that there’s so much mystery and confusion around their contracts – and therefore their future – is a huge story, definitely something to keep an eye on.

Yours in gossip,
