One of my best dressed picks from this year’s gala is Alicia Keys. Hands down. If there’s one thing Alicia’s always going to give you, it’s New York City and she did not disappoint. The “Empire State of Mind” singer showed up in a dress inspired by the Empire State Building. The look designed by fellow New Yorker, Ralph Lauren, features a jewelled strapless gown and one-shouldered black cape with a jewelled NYC cityscape. And the lights were hitting it just right on that carpet. It was extra and over the top in a controlled and classic way. Check out the fourth shot in this carousel.
另一位明星带来富裕今年的gala was Jessica Chastain. I waited and waited for this look to hit the carpet after seeing Jessica post a teaser on the way there. She was chilling in the car, window down, knowing she’s THAT girl before she even got there.
I think she nailed the assignment. It’s fashion, but the snake detailing gives it just a touch of costume, a touch of fun, a touch of danger, and a little Hollywood magic too with the turban as a tribute to Norma Desmond.
