Taylor Swift was spotted a couple of times in New York yesterday – first heading into her apartment in florals and sneakers and then later at Gigi Hadid’s birthday party in florals again and a rose-ish coloured blazer. It’s consistent with the pastels we’ve been seeing during this “4.26” countdown. Here’s the latest post:
So now her fans, who initially thought it was a new album, are thinking it might be a clothing line. I can see why they’d be guessing that. But let’s throw back to this previous post, from last week:
If that sh-t is part of the clothing line, I’m scared to see the clothing line. It’s one thing for the blue plastic heart surrounded by pearls and tackiness to be images from a music video, it’s another when it’s on sale and thousands of her fans are making it part of their summer wardrobe.
Taylor, of course, is spinning this as a big mystery. Like we’re supposed to be breathless with anticipation to find out what it’s all about on Friday. Again, some of us are breathless with anticipation over another event that’s going to dominate the weekend – two, actually:Endgameand the Battle of Winterfell, also an endgame of sorts – but the point of this is to be agonising over the question mark of it and, you know what would help with that? Staying underground. Taylor Swift has the resources to disappear when she needs to. The fact that she was visible yesterday kinda takes the suspense away, at least for me. Also, if she’s launching a clothing line in three days and we’re seeing very new shots of her wearing clothes from other companies, is that good play?
